Accreditation

The RGII and OFTEC (oil) organisations seek to ensure the highest standards in their respective industries. The benefit of using a registered engineer is peace of mind: the assurance that your appliance will operate safely and efficiently. Registration also ensures that the engineer carries public liability.

The Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) has appointed the RGII as the Gas Safety Supervisory Body (GSSB). The company called the Register of Gas Installers of Ireland (RGII) (a wholly owned subsidiary of RECI) a company limited by guarantee, has been formed with the sole purpose of operating as the GSSB on behalf of the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER) and is now solely responsible for registering gas installers in Ireland.

OFTEC operates a Registration scheme, which enables identification of those Technicians who have proved that they have the skill to ensure safe and efficient installation and operation of their plant and delivery of their fuel to the highest standards. Registration  is awarded in two parts, Individual and Business. Only current Technicians and current Companies covered by both Individual and Business Registration can use the OFTEC Approved Logo on their publicity materials and vehicles, and describe themselves as OFTEC Registered.
